Hobart’s Scenic Hiking Trails and Coffee Culture

Jun 25, 2024 | Cheeky Devil Roasters

Begin your day in Hobart with a revitalising cup of Cheeky Devil Roasters’ finest coffee, preparing yourself for a day of exploration amidst Tasmania’s natural wonders. One excellent adventure awaits on the Organ Pipes Track in Wellington Park, offering a blend of rugged terrain and panoramic views.

As you embark on this breathtaking hike, the trail winds through pristine bushland, treating you to expansive vistas of Hobart, the meandering Derwent River, and beyond. Amidst the ancient landscape, marvel at the unique rock formations known as the Organ Pipes, each a testament to nature’s sculptural prowess.

Throughout your trek, take breaks to savour the rich flavours of Cheeky Devil Roasters’ coffee, whether it’s a steaming hot brew warming your hands or a refreshing cold brew invigorating your senses. Each sip complements the serene beauty surrounding you, enhancing your connection to the natural world.

After immersing yourself in the rugged beauty and tranquillity of Wellington Park, perhaps another day beckons to explore further. Consider venturing along the enchanting path leading to Secret Falls and Myrtle Gully Falls, nestled in the heart of Tasmania’s lush forests.

This trail meanders through the cascading pathways of Cascades and Myrtle Gully, venturing into the foothills of Kunanyi (Mount Wellington). The gentle incline of the earth path ascends 230 metres over 3 kilometres. Secret Falls stands tall at a majestic 3 metres, sourced from the waters of the Guy Fawkes River. The trail along the riverside provides the best vantage point to view the waterfall. Due to heavy foot traffic, the trail may be muddy. When observing the waterfall, please stay on the existing trail to minimise harm to the surrounding vegetation. After passing Secret Falls, the trail continues 50 metres to reach Myrtle Gully Falls. Several years ago, Myrtle Gully was officially renamed to Oaks Falls, but most people still refer to it as Myrtle Gully Falls. This is a wonderful hiking journey through the dense rainforests of Tasmania, where you’ll encounter numerous beautiful ferns, wildlife, and other plants along the way.

Whether you choose to explore the dramatic cliffs of the Organ Pipes or discover the serene beauty of Secret Falls and Myrtle Gully Falls, pairing these outdoor adventures with the delightful flavours of Cheeky Devil Roasters’ coffee ensures your visit to Hobart leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Embrace the natural wonders and culinary delights of Tasmania, creating memories that blend adventure with the comforting ritual of enjoying a perfect cup of coffee amidst nature’s splendour.
